VoiceStrip collects nothing about you, and it cannot send anything anywhere.
No internet access
The app does not have Android's internet permission, so Android blocks it from every network — Wi-Fi and mobile data alike. The speech models are built into the app, so nothing is downloaded either.
Your voice
VoiceStrip uses the microphone only while the strip is listening; Android shows its microphone indicator whenever it is on. Your speech is turned into text on your phone, and the audio is then discarded. It is never saved and never leaves the device. The microphone never opens in password, PIN, number, phone or date fields.
What stays on your phone
- Your settings, such as the pause length and your colour.
- Words and fix rules you teach it, and your recent emoji.
These are kept in the app's private storage, are left out of Android's backup, and are deleted when you uninstall the app. You can export your words to a file yourself, and only when you choose to.
Clipboard and passwords
VoiceStrip reads the clipboard only when you tap Paste. Password suggestions come from your password manager through Android; VoiceStrip shows them and does not store them.
No accounts, ads or tracking
There is no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting. That applies to everyone, including children.
Google Play
When you install VoiceStrip from Google Play, Google handles the download under its own privacy policy. Google shows us anonymous, combined statistics such as install counts and how often the app crashes — nothing that identifies you.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Questions: huan@vowric.com.
VoiceStrip is made by Dango Family Inc., Stouffville, Ontario, Canada.
